Colleen was admitted as a solicitor in 2004 and has specialised in insurance litigation since that time.

Colleen joined Wotton + Kearney as a solicitor in May 2006 and was promoted to Senior Associate in July 2009.  Prior to joining Wotton + Kearney, Colleen was employed as a solicitor at Yeldham Lloyd Associates.

Colleen holds a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts (Honours First Class).

Colleen regularly provides indemnity advice in relation to Directors & Officers, Construction/Contracts claims and Investment Managers.  She has also defended insurers in relation to various litigated indemnity disputes and acted on behalf of insurers in relation to subrogated recovery actions.

Colleen's recent matters include:

  • acting for the professional indemnity insurers in relation to a class action commenced against the trustee of a large Australian funds management and property investment group which has now collapsed;
  • advising D&O insurers with respect to claims by administrators and shareholders arising out of irregular treasury operations and the eventual collapse of the largest gold mines in Australia; and 
  • acting for insurers in a variety of small and large subrogated recovery claims.

  • Colleen plays an active role in Wotton + Kearney's Financial Lines Focus Group and is a member of the Wotton + Kearney Construction Focus Group.
  • Colleen is currently a member of AILA, APIG and the Association for Women In Insurance.
