Gabrielle was admitted in 2002 and has specialised in insurance law since then. She regularly provides advice on indemnity disputes and has defended insurers in relation to various litigated indemnity claims. She has also acted on behalf of insurers in relation to subrogated recovery actions. She practises primarily in the Supreme and Federal Court jurisdictions.
Gabrielle's recent matters include:
- acting on behalf of insurers in proceedings to recover the costs resulting from the total destruction of an industrial warehouse by a catastrophic fire;
- acting for the Buyer's Warranty and Indemnity insurers of an advertising company in respect of losses arising out of acquisition of a competitor company;
- acting on behalf of an Australian engineering and infrastructure company in proceedings to recover costs expended to rectify defects in a materials handling plant; and
- advising insurers on policy response with respect to D&O, professional indemnity, fidelity and ISR claims.
