Jason is a Senior Associate in our Sydney office. He has extensive experience in various aspects of insurance litigation including public and products liability, professional indemnity, contractual recovery actions and policy interpretation. Jason is a member of our Public and Products Liability and Construction Focus Groups.
Jason has in excess of 9 years post-admission experience. He has acted on behalf of insurers, self-insurers, reinsurers and insureds in most Australian jurisdictions including the High Court and NSW Court of Appeal.
Jason's recent matters include:
- acting for a government authority in relation to claims arising from the Christmas 2001 bushfires;
- acting on behalf of an overseas manufacturer of educational toys in relation to personal injuries sustained by a minor and a worldwide recall of its products;
- acting for engineers, architects and surveyors in relation to alleged negligent advice;
- acting for an electrical tool manufacturer in relation to significant injuries sustained by a builder when using a tool;
- acting in numerous occupier's liability claims on behalf of owners, managers, contractors and cleaners of commercial retail premises in relation to personal injury claims;
- advising insurers, reinsurers and insureds in relation to policy coverage issues; and
- appearing as an advocate on behalf of insurers at mediations and interlocutory applications.
