Gareth joined Wotton + Kearney in 2005 while completing a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (France). He was promoted to Senior Associate in July 2010.
His practice is particularly focused on providing coverage advice and running litigation in relation to construction risks, property damage and products liability claims. He also has experience in handling large-scale litigation and contentious cross-jurisdictional disputes.
Gareth has also been published in a range of industry publications including the Australian Insurance Law Bulletin, the Australian Construction Law Bulletin, the ANZIIF Journal and the Insurance Law Journal.
Gareth's recent matters include:
providing coverage advice in relation to liability claims associated with catastrophic bushfires;
advising insurers in relation to various commercial property damage claims associated with tropical cyclones, dust storms and flooding;
providing jurisdictional advice and prosecuting an anti-suit injunction for an insurer faced with indemnity proceedings in various overseas forums;
acting for a design and construction contractor in related litigation associated with the failure of a waste processing facility include defence, recovery and indemnity proceedings;
advising an insurer in relation to several products liability class actions based in the United States; and
acting in proceedings before the Appeals Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
