Paul has specialised in insurance litigation since 1998 and was admitted as a solicitor in 2001. He advises and acts for public authorities, occupiers, manufacturers, building professionals, engineers, architects, accountants and their insurers. Paul also participates in a variety of dispute resolution forums.
Paul's recent matters include:
- acting for the professional indemnity insurer of a nuclear engineering company involved in the design and construction of a nuclear power facility;
- acting for the liability insurer and owner of a 250 tonne crane which collapsed on a construction site;
- advising the professional indemnity insurer of a construction company involved in the installation of a ventilation system in a hospital in England;
- acting for the liability insurer and operator of immigration detention facilities in claims by former detainees who allegedly developed psychiatric injury while in detention;
- advising the professional indemnity insurer of a thoroughbred racehorse syndicator in relation to the syndicator's failure to purchase a number of racehorses; and
- acting for a public authority in relation to a landslide caused by the alleged failure of a water main.

Paul is the co-chair of the Wotton + Kearney Construction Focus Group and an active member of the Public and Product Liability Focus Group. He is also a member of the following organisations:
