Karen holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Bachelor of Laws. Admitted as a solicitor in 1999 she gained litigation experience by working with a Judge in the Supreme Court.
Karen has specialised in insurance litigation since 2001. She joined Wotton + Kearney in 2005 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2008.

Karen is skilled in policy interpretation and all claims involving public and products liability, professional indemnity and property damage. She has experience in all NSW jurisdictions and has most recently acted in the following matters:
- a District Court claim against an accountant for allegedly negligent advice relevant to the maintenance of a superannuation fund;
- District Court proceedings against a large retailer for personal injury damages resulting from faulty equipment;
- a Supreme Court claim against various builders for catastrophic injuries sustained to a worker at a construction site; and
- a High Court application for leave to appeal a decision overturning an award of damages to a truck driver for injuries sustained whilst loading his truck.

Karen is a member of the firm's Public and Products Liability Focus Group and is passionate about alternative dispute resolution as a means of achieving the best commercial result for her clients.
