Christy’s practice focuses on technology disputes. She specialises in acting for insurers, their technology customers, and corporate technology providers in complex and high value litigation. She also regularly acts as coverage counsel for insurers.
Christy is known for her technical ability and her strategic and commercial approach to disputes. She has extensive experience defending claims against a wide range of insured professionals from the technology, construction, and property sectors.
Christy has practised law in Australia and the UK. Earlier in her career, she was a judge’s associate in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.

- Acting for a website developer in respect of a claim by an aggrieved client for alleged breach of contract and misleading and deceptive conduct.
- Acting for a managed services provider (MSP) in multiple claims by former clients following a cyber breach.
- Acting for a software developer in relation to the design and implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, where the client alleges that years of delays and significant additional costs were caused by the developer’s design and project management failures.

- Acting for a structural engineer in relation to a foundation movement claim involving over 100 homes and complex causation issues.
- Acting as coverage counsel for PI insurers in relation to mitigation loss claims by construction professionals.
- Defending multi-party proceedings against a structural engineer for allegedly defective inspection services and advice in relation to an aged care facility.
- Acting for an architect in respect of a claim for allegedly non-compliant cladding to an apartment building.
- Acting for insurers in a litigated coverage dispute, including advising on the interaction between the insured’s professional indemnity and management liability policies.
- Defending a claim against a construction PI insurer for an allegedly defective design of an industrial facility, where the insured engineer was deregistered.
