Jasmin is an experienced litigator and specialises in medical malpractice claims. She is a keen advocate having obtained successful outcomes for clients in court, compulsory conferences, mediations, and various other alternative dispute resolution forums.

Jasmin has worked with hundreds of registered healthcare practitioners, as well as alternative therapists and managers in the health industry. Jasmin has represented hospitals, health clinics, together with allied health service providers such as optometrists, chiropractors and personal trainers. Jasmin has extensive experience representing clients in complaints, regulatory and disciplinary matters including professional misconduct and unprofessional conduct proceedings brought before the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and the Office of the Health Ombudsman in Queensland. These include complaints against GPs, dentists, nurses and hospitals for incidents such as failure to refer patients for more specialist care, delays in diagnosis and misdiagnoses, negligent medical treatment and professional misconduct.

Medical Negligence

  • Acted on behalf of insured practitioners and government organisations.
  • Acted on behalf of an insurer in defence of a claim relating to allegations that a Hospital breached the duty of care it owed to Mrs M by failing to recognise the significance of more than minimal abnormalities in the liver function tests. As a result of the negligence of the hospital employees, it is alleged that she has sustained HELLP syndrome, poor kidney function, pulmonary embolism and psychological/psychiatric injury due to the loss of her unborn son.
  • Acted on behalf of an insurer in defence of a claim relating to allegations that a Hospital delayed in the diagnosis of a spinal epidural abscess in a claimant with type 1 diabetes, resulting in a left partial paraplegia.

Workers Compensation/ Public Liability

  • Acted on behalf of two claimants who sustained serious injuries to both hands as a result of the repetitive nature of their work using large vibrating power tools, causing the veins in their wrists to collapse and resulting in a diagnosis of hand arm vibration syndrome and amputation of one worker’s dominant arm.

Dust Diseases

  • Acted on behalf of a claimant who was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of exposure to asbestos dust during the course of a 4-year plumbing apprenticeship in Queensland.
  • Acted on behalf of a claimant who was diagnosed with mesothelioma due to exposure to asbestos dust whilst washing her husband’s clothing during the course of home renovations her husband performed in the 1980’s.


  • Acted on behalf of a claimant who was hit from behind on her motor cycle by another vehicle. She sustained moderate injuries to her back and left ankle.
