- Acting for professionals including engineers, architects and accountants in defending negligence claims.
- Advising, as coverage and monitoring counsel, on coverage issues arising under professional indemnity policies.
Directors + Officers Liability
- Advising insurers on coverage, including in a claim brought by an energy company against a current director for breach of fiduciary duties, as well as other matters involving breaches of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and misleading and deceptive conduct.
- Acting for director insureds defending claims concerning alleged contraventions of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
Inquiries, Investigations + Prosecutions
- Acting for insureds in respect of Department of Environment and Science prosecutions concerning alleged breaches of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld).
- Acting for engineer insureds in regulatory investigations involving alleged breaches of the Professional Engineers Act 2002 (Qld).
- Acting for insureds in relation to investigations commenced by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, and prosecutions commenced by the Office of Workplace Health and Safety Prosecutor, concerning alleged breaches of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld).
- Representing medical and allied health professionals in defence of claims and disciplinary proceedings.
Environmental Liability
- Representing insureds in prosecutions brought by the Queensland Department of Environment and Science.
- Advising insurers on the operation of environmental liability policies and assisting them to implement appropriate remediation and monitoring programs.
Defamation
- Acting for insureds in defence of defamation claims brought against professionals, local councils, associations and individuals.
