Wotton + Kearney is proud to support the New Zealand’s Law Society’s study of wellbeing and mental health of lawyers within New Zealand which aims to find reasons for the prevalence of mental health issues within the profession and help build psychological wellbeing and resilience.

The study is commissioned by The Life Squared Trust, a mental health awareness charity founded in memory of former NZ Partner Andrew McIntyre. The Trust is dedicated to addressing the issue of mental health within the New Zealand legal profession.

It is hoped that this study will provide the Trust and the Profession with invaluable information on:

  • Detailed aspects of illbeing – the extent and depth of the problem and mental health challenges within the New Zealand profession, such as depression, stress, and anxiety;
  • Detailed aspects of wellbeing – what is going right with lawyers that are having more good days at work, the enabling conditions and factors that are supporting their wellbeing, as well as preventative and proactive approaches such as resilience and organisational system factors.

This study is open to all registered lawyers in New Zealand is designed to help provide the much needed date to allow for the profession to make changes that are remediate, reduce and prevent growing aspects of illbeing, and importantly also provide suggestions to build psychological wellbeing and resilience.

We would appreciate if you could spare some time to take part in this important study.
