Submissions are now open for both the Australian and New Zealand 2019 W+K APIG Scholarships. Established to support the career development of insurance professionals practising in PI and financial lines insurance in each country, the recipients will benefit from an outstanding sponsorship package and educational experience as recognition for their contribution to the industry. Full details for the Australian and New Zealand scholarships are provided below, including key dates and links to an application form.

2019 Scholarship (Australia)

Scholarship prize:

  • Attendance at the 3-day Professional Indemnity Forum (PIF) Conference held at Robinson College, Cambridge University, England on 6-8 July 2020, valued at approximately £1,200
  • A hosted visit to the Lloyd’s insurance market in London
  • AUD7,500 towards return economy airfares, transfers, accommodation and spending

Entry criteria:

  • Open to current APIG members under the age of 36 years at the closing date of submission who are actively involved in PI/financial lines insurance in Australia
  • Approval from your company or firm to attend the PIF Conference in England in July 2020
  • Members of the APIG National Committee and employees of Wotton + Kearney are ineligible

Submissions:

Eligible candidates are required to produce a written submission of up to 600 words outlining:

  1. Your name, position and employer details
  2. Your background in financial lines insurance
  3. Your contribution to financial lines insurance
  4. Views on the present and/or future for the insurance industry from a perspective that affects your position

Key dates:

  • Submissions close 5.00pm (AEST) on Friday, 2 August 2019
  • Winner announced at the APIG National Conference on Thursday, 22 August 2019

Scholarship prize:

  • Attendance at the annual APIG National Conference and Gala Dinner in Sydney on Thursday, 22 August 2019
  • NZD2,500 towards return airfares, accommodation and spending

Entry criteria:

  • Open to current APIG (NZ) members resident in New Zealand who are actively involved in PI/financial lines insurance
  • Approval from your company or firm to attend the 2019 APIG Conference and Gala Dinner in Sydney
  • Members of the APIG (NZ) Committee and employees of Wotton + Kearney are ineligible

Submissions:

Eligible candidates are required to produce a written submission of up to 800 words outlining:

  1. Your name, position and employer details
  2. Your background in financial lines insurance
  3. Your contribution to financial lines insurance
  4. Views on the present and/or future for the insurance industry from a perspective that affects your position

Key dates:

  • Submissions close 5.00pm on Friday, 12 July 2019
  • Winner announced on 24 July 2019 at the proposed APIG NZ seminar, and/or by email announcement.
