Wotton + Kearney has once again ranked highly in both Australia and New Zealand for insurance law in the Chambers and Partners rankings. W+K are recognised as a Band 1 Firm for Insurance Law in Australia for the eighth consecutive year, and retained our Band 2 position for Insurance Law in New Zealand for the third consecutive year.

Client feedback in the recently released 2020 Asia-Pacific Guide describes the firm as a “well-regarded insurance powerhouse acting for major insurers on big-ticket disputes, including public and product liability, financial lines and professional indemnity matters.” It also notes that W+K possess “an impressive trans-Tasman footprint” and said our New Zealand practice is “respected for its proven track record and wide-ranging expertise in complex insurance disputes.”

Executive Chairman David Kearney commented: “As a firm focused on building close partnering relationships with our clients, we highly value these results given Chambers rankings are based on direct client feedback and research, and not peer-to-peer nominations or stand-alone submission-based reviews”.

“We were particularly delighted with the client feedback in this year’s publication, which included being described as a ‘known and respected team with a lot of good operators’ noted for its possession of ‘long experience and technical knowledge that assists the industry’ and ‘its ability to handle ‘high-end, complex, litigated insurance matters’”.

Client commentary was similarly positive for New Zealand where “They have an excellent insurance knowledge” and “are very good at assessing where the client is at and work well with insurers.”

Along with the firm rankings, six W+K partners featured in the leading individual rankings:
