Since the firm was established in 2002, Wotton + Kearney has had WorkVentures trainees working in their Sydney office. The firm currently has 2 office juniors both of whom came to Wotton + Kearney through this partnership and are an integral part of the team.

Office manager Karen Kelly sees first-hand the benefits for both trainee and the firm. “Traineeships give young people a foot in the door to experience working in a business environment“ says Karen. “The team at Wotton + Kearney loves working with young people, helping them to grow and gain skills.”

WorkVentures is very supportive throughout the traineeship – they do the majority of the screening, provide them with an induction, have regular follow up meetings with them and are always available for the trainees to call. WorkVentures does everything they can to help young people morph into working adult life“ adds Karen. “WorkVentures provides a solid framework and direction with their traineeships, which assists trainees to get into full time work.“

You can’t expect anyone to do menial tasks for forever and a day, so we see the traineeships as a stepping stone for a greater opportunity. There are many CEOs and COOs in the world who started in the mail room and worked their way up.“

Wotton + Kearney is proud of its partnership with WorkVentures and looks forward to its continuing success.
