As part of Wotton + Kearney’s CSR partnership with Royal Far West, on Monday 17 March, 9 members of the firm (plus 2 Wotton + Kearney support crew) will start an epic 490km cycle ride from Dubbo to Wagga Wagga – covering the distance in just 3 days!

In total, 22 cyclists will take part in the ride, during which there will also be numerous events to help raise awareness about Royal Far West and raise further funds for the work they do. They will be stopping off at local schools along the way to meet some of the children helped by organisation, while the Royal Far West “Care Bus” and clinicians will promote healthcare initiatives. The local fundraising events include a sheep shearing competition, root throwing, Elvis performances, auctions and raffles.

With barely 2 weeks to go, training and fundraising is in full swing, with the fundraising total standing at almost $58,000, of which the Wotton + Kearney teams have raised over $28,000. With a bicycle-themed bake-off & wax-off taking place on Monday 3 March, there is still plenty of opportunity to raise even more money for this very worthy cause!

During the ride the teams’ progress can be followed on the fundraising page (http://ridingforcountrykids2013.gofundraise.com.au/cms/home – still open for donations!) and on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Riding-for-Country-Kids/243229459185285).

Good luck to all the riders and thank you to everyone who has supported them so far in this mammoth feat!
