Wotton + Kearney has been recognised as one of the fastest-growing law firms in Australia in Australasian Lawyer’s ‘Fast Firms of 2023’.

Australasian Lawyer said this year’s fastest-growing law firms have distinguished themselves in the dynamic legal field by:

  • taking a holistic approach to accelerate their operations while maintaining high-quality work and client service;
  • focusing on staff development and training, as well as strategic recruitment; and
  • preserving the core values of their workplace culture while scaling up.

Since July 2022, Wotton + Kearney has achieved a number of significant growth milestones, including opening an office in Canberra, acquiring a health law practice in Melbourne, expanding the firm’s Adelaide practice, bringing in a commercial litigation team led by leading disputes, media and defamation lawyer Richard Leder, and hiring commercial litigation specialist Amanda Beattie as Head of Class Actions.

Founded in 2002, Wotton + Kearney has grown from two partners to 76 partners and over 360 lawyers across offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The firm celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022, committing to making “20 Actions for 20 Years” to reflect its commitment to responsible business.

In June 2022, Wotton + Kearney also announced its partnership with Straight Bat, to help accelerate the firm’s ambitious client solutions and growth objectives. This new partnership allows Wotton + Kearney to make a significant investment in accelerating the delivery of the firm’s strategy, which involves attracting the best talent in key insurance lines, capturing new market opportunities, and investing in legal tech to benefit the firm’s clients.
