Rosalind’s practice focuses on public and product liability, as well as property damage claims. Her particular expertise is policy indemnity, and she is a trusted advisor to both local and overseas insurers on complex coverage issues. She is experienced in advising both under primary policies and reinsurance, as well as managing technical indemnity disputes, dual insurance issues and recovery claims.

In addition to her coverage work, Rosalind has broad experience advising local and overseas insurers in relation to claims across a range of industries, including transport, manufacturing, construction and property, as well as in the education sector.

Rosalind was the inaugural winner of the Michael Kirby Chambers UTAS prize for high achievement.

  • Advising reinsurers on complex coverage issues arising from high profile COVID-19 related class actions.
  • Advising insurers resisting a subrogated recovery arising from a high value medical negligence action.
  • Defending and successfully resolving an indemnity dispute under a product liability policy, listed in the Fast Track List of the Federal Court, on behalf of a major insurer.
  • Coordinating and achieving favourable settlements in a multi-claimant dispute against a major construction company.
  • Advising insurers in relation to a salmonella “outbreak” at a 5-star hotel in Melbourne, including providing time critical advice in response to media requests and achieving coordinated settlements of numerous claims.
